The Oscar nominations have been announced...
and all I can think about is hair, updos, etc.! I'm not sure what it is about Oscar season about it always makes me want to spend hours playing with my hair trying to put it up in some intricate updo. I probably sound like a complete goober.. oh well! I'm looking forward to seeing who wore what, how they wore their hair, and who goes home with an Oscar! The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the traffic that goes along with the Oscars. Above are some updos/hairstyles that I want to start trying out. Anyone in the LA area willing to be my hair model?

Name Change!
Pregnancy Footwear
I'm only 19 weeks but I'm already noticing how important footwear is becoming in my pregnancy. I've traded jeans for jeggins and cute pants for leggins. The option of heels no longer exists. So what options are there for someone who wants to stay comfortable yet fashionable?
1. Converse - I love these sneakers because I can wear them with almost anything. They don't look that bad with a cute skirt either! They are also comfortable!
2. Minnetonka - These are easy to slip on and off. They also have a rubber sole. I find that this makes for extra comfort.
3. Havaianas - These flip-flops feel like heaven to me. I seriously live in these flip-flops. I consider these a must have for everyone.. pregnant or not!
4. Sam Edelman "The Clive" - I have these in a bright yellow/green color. They have a natural cork sole which makes them uber comfy! I also have a wide foot so I had to break them in a bit. These are my "work" shoes.
5. Jessica Simpson Flat Boot - I have a worn in pair of "riding boots" that Jessica Simpson made. I wasn't a fan of them for a years but I recently fell back in love with them. They are stylish.. even without a heel!
6. Nike Shox - I have a beat up pair from years ago. They are perfectly worn in and the perfect shoe to do my "light" working out in. They offer support and are comfortable for walking on the treadmill or taking a dog for a long walk.
7. Uggs - I'm sure I heard a few groans when I put these on here. Yes, everyone and their mother owns a pair. I was recently in Big Bear and these babies came in handy for the freezing cold. If you're going to be in the cold this is your best "comfy" & warm option!
8. Jessica Simpson - Yes, her boots are on here again. These have a 4 inch heel. Kind of deadly but for four inches.. I find them semi comfy. These are perfect for a date night or a girls night out. Just be sure you can sit down at some point. I don't suggest standing in these for a long period of time.
9. Toms Shoes - I don't own a pair of these but I try them on ALL the time. They are the perfect vegan footwear (if that's a concern for you). They are the perfect shoe to slip on and just go! They also have a lot of colors, textures, etc. to choose from! I also like the little animal print inside the shoe!

TGIF!
I always looked forward to the weekends because it was a few extra days to catch up on errands, chores, etc. that I wasn't able to do during the week. It was also extra time to take a day/weekend trip.
My weekends are changing a bit. They are still viewed as extra time to catch up on errands or chores but my weekend extravaganzas are coming to an end. The partying days no longer exist. Saving money and staying healthy is all I care about these days. My weekends are now spent relishing in the little things.. quick trips to the beach, napping whenever possible, memorizing the farmers market, etc.
How do you like to spend your weekends?

F: Neutrogena Moisturizer - The only moisturizer that works for me.
G: Origins SPF 20 - It's the perfect sunblock
H: MAC Pigment - Use the creme eyeshadow base and then put this stuff over it.
I: MAC Foundation - Makes your face look camera ready
J: Eucerin - One of the best lotions on the market
K: Aveeno calming body wash - I love Aveeno products and I LOVE this body wash

The Simple Things...
I feel that it's really easy to complain about everything that goes wrong in your life. I find myself complaining about how uncomfortable it is to sleep, how exhausted I constantly am, etc. So I'm going to dedicate this post to the little things that I'm grateful for/make me happy.
1) My Oma's german accent. Sometimes I call just to hear her voice.
2) My close friends who have always been there through thick & thin.
3) The 3:30am dance parties that take place in my stomach.
4) Kisses on my forehead
5) Vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and rainbow sprinkles.
6) Cozy socks
7) When dinner is cooked for me.
8) Seeing smiles on my favorite people's faces.
9) When things smell clean.
10) A good belly laugh
11) Snuggling
12) Seeing my favorite puppies.
13) Taking pictures.
14) Reading stories to the twins.
15) Naps

Cabin Chic
First off - I apologize for the lack of blogging! Returning from the Holidays, Returning to work & planning someone's birthday trip to Big Bear consumed my life for the first week of January!
This past weekend a bunch of my friends and I took a trip to Big Bear and stayed in one of our friend's cabin. When we got there I was in awe of this cabin. My friend's mom had it decorated perfectly! I loved the fabrics and how perfectly everything went together! My only regret was not getting more shots of the blankets, pillows, etc. So here's a few photos of the cabin. Enjoy!
